Information Collection and Use

Location Data
The SIGSCAN mobile app can collect the geographic position of
the device (both approximate and precise location) as part of its
equipment-tracking feature.
When a user turns this feature on in the app settings, the app
periodically scans nearby Bluetooth (BLE) tags and records the
position of the device at the time of the scan. Each record
contains a device identifier, a timestamp, the position of the
device (latitude, longitude and accuracy) and the list of tag
identifiers detected nearby. These records are sent to the
SIGSCAN server of the organisation the user belongs to, so that
tagged equipment can be located across its sites.
This collection continues while the app is in the background or
the screen is off, and resumes after the device is restarted.
This is why the app asks for the « Allow all the time » location
permission. A permanent notification is displayed on the device
for as long as tracking is active.
The feature is disabled by default. It is turned on explicitly by
the user in the app settings and can be turned off at any time
from the same screen. The location permission can also be revoked
at any time in the Android system settings. When the feature is
off, no position is collected.
Location data is never sold, and is never shared with third
parties for advertising, profiling or any other purpose unrelated
to equipment tracking. It is stored on the SIGSCAN instance of
the customer organisation and kept according to the retention
rules described in this policy.
Log Data
We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your device called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
Cookies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory.
This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.
